    What Is OKR?

OKR is an acronym that stands for Objectives and Key Results. It’s a goal-setting and management tool that helps companies implement their strategies effectively. Objectives refer to the company goals to be achieved in the future and the key results are the metrics used to measure progress made towards the objectives.

How to Set OKRs with Creately?

    • Prior to the session, introduce the OKR scoring system to the team. It’s a sliding scale between 0-10 indicating whether you missed hitting your goal, came close to it, or achieved your target for the key result.
    • Identify the key objectives. Ideas can be generated through a group brainstorming session. You can use Creately as a whiteboard to collaborate on collecting ideas and grouping them based on similarities (i.e. using an affinity diagram).
    • The next step is to identify the Key Results. These are the measurable outcomes that will help indicate that you have reached your target objectives. Once identified, assign each key result an owner.
    • Go through the identified objectives and key results and determine whether they are ambitious enough and whether they are too many or too few. Based on your team’s capacity and confidence, you can increase your target. Otherwise, you can keep it as it is.
    • If the involvement of another team is required to meet the set objectives and key results, make sure to loop them in by sharing your OKRs.
    • While you should score your OKRs at regular intervals to identify blockers early on, at the end of the quarter, give each key result a final score. You can conduct a retrospective meeting to discuss the results and how you should proceed in the future.
