Sharepoint Integration, New Fault Tree & BCG Matrix Shapes Libraries, Major Updates to Plus Create and More
SharePoint Integration – Embed Workspaces with Ease
We’re excited to introduce SharePoint integration, making it easier than ever to embed your Creately workspaces directly into SharePoint and other platforms.
Users can now choose whether to embed their workspace as a static image or an interactive workspace, providing greater flexibility in how workspaces are displayed. Now users can select the embed code from a dropdown with MS SharePoint as an option.
We’ve also accounted for different workspace sharing scenarios: when a workspace is not shared, when collaborators are added but no link is shared, when it’s shared within the team, and when it’s shared publicly via a link. These improvements ensure users have full control over who can access their embedded content.
This update makes embedding Creately workspaces into SharePoint more intuitive and efficient, improving workflow collaboration and accessibility.
New Shape Library for Fault Tree Analysis
A new Shape Library for Fault Tree Analysis has been introduced to enhance diagramming efficiency and accessibility. This dedicated library now organizes specific Fault Tree Analysis shapes in one place, making them easier to locate and use. This update ensures engineers, safety analysts, risk managers, IT professionals, project managers, and researchers have a streamlined experience when creating Fault Tree Analysis diagrams, improving accuracy and workflow efficiency.
New Shape Library for BCG Matrix
A dedicated BCG Matrix Shape Library and respective layouts are now available. This update addresses the need for ready-to-use BCG Matrix shapes, improving efficiency for professionals in business strategy, marketing, and consulting. With this addition, users can now seamlessly create BCG Matrices, enhancing their workflow and productivity.
Major Plus Create Updates
Several improvements have been made to enhance the Plus Create and Shape Panel experience. The Plus Create feature now allows connectors to be placed on any side, providing greater flexibility. After creation, connectors are automatically selected for adjustments. When dragging a connector to another shape, the target shape highlights on hover, offering clear visual feedback. Connections can now be made to any edge or position, with glue points as optimal connection spots.
Connector styles created using Plus Create now match the ‘connector type’ of the connected shape for consistency. If a shape has multiple connector options, the system prioritizes the most suitable type, with simple lines as a last resort. Preference is given to connectors originating from the shape, followed by those directed toward it, and those from the current glue point. Styling, including line style, bumps, and draw type (curve, straight, etc.), has been standardized. Additionally, Plus Create buttons maintain their normal offset from shapes when zoomed out, ensuring easy selection.
These updates enhance usability, consistency, and workflow efficiency when working with shapes and connectors.
Header Bar, Right Sidebar & Quick Toolbar UI Updates
Several UI improvements have been made to enhance navigation and accessibility. The top title has been removed from the notes panel, the comments icon is now in the Quick Toolbar, and the ‘Show/Hide Cursor’ icon appears only when multiple collaborators are present. The comments panel styles have been updated for consistency.
Header options have been reorganized, moving collaboration features to the user avatar section. The voting option remains in both the header and Right Sidebar but will eventually be exclusive to the Right Sidebar. The Right Sidebar has been redesigned for improved usability.
The button panel is now separate from the main panel, featuring a Panel Name Header and Close Button. Enhancements have been made to the Comments Panel (now with an ‘Add Comment’ icon), Code Panel, Notes Panel, Properties Panel, and Workspace Preferences to improve workflow efficiency.
Improved Dropdowns and Folder Panel Selection
We’ve made key usability enhancements to improve navigation and selection efficiency.
- Dropdown Experience Enhancement: Dropdown menus no longer close immediately when the pointer slightly moves outside the area. A slight delay has been added to ensure smoother selection.
- Folder Panel Selection Improvement: When switching between workspaces in large projects or organizations, the selected workspace is now automatically scrolled into view, making it easier to locate.
These updates enhance overall accessibility and workflow efficiency.
Workspace Name Input Update
The workspace name input has been improved to provide a more seamless experience. Users can now easily update their workspace names, even after completely removing the existing one. This enhancement ensures greater flexibility and a smoother workflow, improving overall usability.
Folder Workspace Visibility Issue Resolved
An issue where workspaces created under a folder were not visible has been fixed. Previously, when a new workspace was created within an expanded folder, it would not appear as expected. With this fix, newly created workspaces are now correctly displayed within their respective folders, ensuring seamless navigation and accessibility.
