Significant Enhancements to the Right Sidebar Panel, Text Mode Improvements, and Google Sheets Imports and Data Fields Sync
Right Sidebar Panel Update
We have introduced some major updates to the right sidebar panel. We tackled an issue where selecting a shape, opening the Comments panel, and then attempting to access the Shape Properties panel caused it to remain closed, resulting in the shape becoming unselected. This behavior has been fixed, so you can now seamlessly open the Shape Properties panel while keeping your selected shape active.
In addition to this fix, we’ve made several major UI enhancements to the right sidebar, including updated panel icons, a newly added close icon, and a tooltip for improved usability. We’ve also separated the right sidebar from the top right buttons to ensure smooth functionality. These updates ensure a smoother interaction with the right sidebar and will enhance your overall Creately experience.
Shape Resizing
Our latest improvements to shape resizing will elevate your user experience!
First up, we’ve tackled an issue where shapes would unexpectedly resize after users clicked the Notes panel and then re-selected the shape. This caused some users to experience some size changes in shapes. Now, your shapes will maintain their original dimensions while working with the Notes panel, thanks to a fix that eradicates new lines caused by empty paragraphs.
We’ve also waved goodbye to text overflow! We resolved the issue where shapes wouldn’t automatically resize to accommodate additional text, which often led to awkward formatting. Now, shapes will dynamically adjust their size, ensuring all your content is perfectly visible and neatly contained. Enjoy a seamless and delightful editing experience as you manage shapes and text!
Google Sheets Data Imports and Data Fields Sync
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve fixed multiple bugs related to data fields and Google Sheets imports to improve the overall functionality.
Data Field Updates Not Reflecting in Shape View: Previously, updates from a Google Sheet wouldn’t sync properly with the Shape view. This has been resolved, ensuring that all changes made in the Google Sheet are accurately reflected in your workspace.
Shape and Data Panel Sync Issue: We fixed a problem where edits made to a card’s name through the Shape view or Notes panel weren’t updating in the data panel. Now, any changes made will sync correctly, whether you’re working with normal or imported card shapes.
Shape Resizing Issue: No more unexpected resizing! Shapes now retain their original size while working with data fields, ensuring a consistent design.
Date of Birth Display: We’ve simplified the display of the date of birth by removing the unnecessary time zone, providing a cleaner and more accurate view.
These fixes significantly improve the synchronization between data fields, shapes, and Google Sheets, leading to a smoother and more accurate user experience.
New Element Creation and Connector Gluepoint Issue Fixed in Text Mode
In our latest update, we’ve resolved two issues to improve your editing experience. First, we’ve improved Text Mode so that pressing Shift+Enter now correctly shifts the text focus to the newly created element, making your text entry and editing much smoother.
Additionally, the PlusCreate Connector Gluepoints issue has been resolved. Connectors now reliably drag and snap to the appropriate gluepoints, ensuring your diagrams are both accurate and user-friendly.
Table Cell Merge and Layout
Table text now adjusts perfectly when adding cards to rows, eliminating overlaps, while the lower cells remain correctly aligned even after adding multiple cards. This was an issue for some users previously, but with these improvements, you can now effortlessly move cards within copied tables. These enhancements ensure that your table layouts are accurate and user-friendly.
User Profile Header Behavior Fixed for Offline Collaborators
The unexpected expansion of the section when hovering over the user profile in the workspace header has been addressed to reduce user distraction. This behavior has been corrected, allowing for a more streamlined navigation experience in your workspace.
Card Shape Titles
Lastly, we resolved an issue affecting card shape titles. Previously, when users tried to change a card’s title through the data panel, it would incorrectly display, causing confusion. This bug has been fixed. You can now change card titles without any display errors, ensuring clarity and enhancing your overall workspace experience.
