Guide and Best Practices
A daily standup meeting, also known as a “scrum,” is practice used by teams to work more effectively together. This practice gets the team members together every day and allows them to discuss the results of the previous day, the action plan for the current day and helps identify any obstacles that may be in the way of completing a task.
How to Run a Standup Meeting?
- Open a Creately standup template and share it with the rest of the participants. Even if they are joining remotely they can join in with in-app video conferencing and provide their input on the canvas in real-time.
- Establish a regular time and place and make sure this meeting is incorporated into your daily routine.
- Set up an agenda and keep it short. The point of the standup is to fill everyone in as quickly as possible.
- Assign a ‘scrum leader’ who will ask each team member to add to the template and discuss any issues that may arise.
- Every team member answers three important questions; What have I accomplished since our last standup? What do I hope to accomplish before the next one? What obstacles might keep me from doing so?
