What Is a Project Status Report?
The project status report is a document that outlines the project’s overall progress against the projected project plan. It helps keep all project stakeholders informed about the high-level information such as milestones, work accomplished, risks, and roadblocks.
How to Create a Project Status Report?
- Open Creately and create a workspace to host your project status report on. Add other collaborators, including the project manager and other key stakeholder, to work with them in real-time on editing the report.
- Select a project status report example from the Creately templates to start right away. Alternatively you can enable the relevant shape library and drag and drop shapes onto the canvas to visualize the content of the project status report from scratch.
- Once you have given a name to your report, which should reflect the project name itself, and present the project health (current project status) using a color coding system (green = on track, yellow = at risk, red = off track).
- Write down your project status report summary in 2-3 sentences. This section should highlight the project highlights, major roadblocks, and potential project risks.
- Include a high-level summary of each key area of the project.
- Using Creately notes, include additional links to reports, images, docs, screenshots, and more on project status for those who would like to read more on how the project is progressing.
- Next highlight any blockers the project has run into and the next step as to how to overcome them.
- Finally, share the completed report via a quick secure share link or embed them in any site or intranet with an embed link to quickly communicate you project progress to stakeholders.
