10 Years after announcing his Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan, Elon Masked revealed to the world, its much anticipated second part (Master Plan, Part Deux) on 20th of July 2016.
Having successfully completed the first part of the Master Plan where he delivered well on his promises, Musk plans to further his attempts to create a world with a ‘sustainable energy economy’ in Part Deux with the acquisition of SolarCity which is responsible for the world’s most efficient rooftop solar panel.
In his Master Plan Part Deux, by merging the efforts of Tesla and SolarCity, Musk plans to;
- Build solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage which will “empower the individual as their own utility”
- Invent an electronic vehicle product line that will “address all major segments” (a compact SUV, a pickup truck, a heavy-duty truck ‘Tesla Semi’ and high passenger-density urban transport)
- Invent autopilot that is 10x safer (with hardware “necessary to be fully self-driving with fail-operational capability”) than actual driving
- Introduce Tesla shared fleet that will generate income for the owner while he is at work or vacation
The infographic shows how Tesla and SolarCity, in the last few years, have worked towards the same goal of achieving ‘a sustainable energy economy’ and how their integration will further facilitate reaching this target in the future.
