SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is a secure and reliable protocol used to control the authentication and authorization of IT infrastructure. It enables users to securely access multiple services, such as websites and applications, without having to enter credentials each time. The SAML flow is initiated by a Service Provider, which sends an authentication request to a user over the internet. This request then redirects the user to an Identity Provider (IdP) so that a secure user session can be established. After successful authentication, the IdP sends an assertion to the Service Provider, who then passes the assertion to the user, enabling access to the requested service. SAML is a secure, easy to use protocol for granting access to IT Infrastructure.
