Hierarchical Task Analysis

A Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA) is a systematic approach used to break down complex tasks into simpler subtasks. It is a highly efficient tool used in human resource management to understand how workplace tasks are accomplished accurately, safely and quickly. Companies can use HTA to identify how tasks can be completed more efficiently, identify potential risks and assign staff to specific roles that are suited for their skill level. An HTA can show the sequence of steps, interrelations between tasks and roles and what resources are needed for each subtask. It helps make procedures more effective, efficient and safe.
