New Genogram Gender Icon Library

We have introduced a new category within the existing shape library in Creately dedicated to gender icons. This enhancement allows users to use icons representing various genders, including male, female, non-binary, and other gender identities, ensuring inclusivity and representation in genograms and family trees.

This new category enables users to better represent gender diversity in their diagrams, whether for consultative, educational or organizational purposes.

New Shape Panel Design Layout

We’ve redesigned the shapes panel to ensure better visibility and categorization for all element types such as shapes, assets, stickers and embeds.

The Shape panel now also intelligently adjusts its focus on the diagram type. For general diagrams, the panel defaults to the “Shapes” view. For specialized diagrams like AWS and ArchiMate, the panel will automatically focus on the relevant technical panel, improving efficiency and ease of use.

GitHub Issue Filtering

Users can now filter GitHub issues directly from the Database Panel without needing to reconnect, allowing for efficient issue management and filtering. The filtering options are accessible from the GitHub Database folder. For other Database folders, the advanced search functionality remains available.

Swimlanes Issues Fixed

Creately’s swimlane shape remembers its contents and keeps them organized automatically. It also automatically resizes itself as more items are added.

We identified a rare issue where swimlanes were getting incorrectly resized when adding items via PlusCreate or the Library panel and have now resolved that issue. Along with this we’ve also improved the stability and performance of swimlanes as well for a faster process mapping experience.

Improvements to Folder Path Display and Usability

We’ve implemented several updates to enhance user experience in Creately:

The cursor now changes to a pointing hand when hovering over clickable text or buttons in the folder path, making interactive elements more obvious. We’ve also removed the character limit for folder path names to prevent truncation and improve navigation.

Additionally, users can now adjust character limits for organization name and as well as folder names during onboarding or via folder panel settings to suit their preferences. A new background has been added to the folder path for improved visibility and readability.

Finally, the issue where archived workspaces incorrectly displayed their original category name has been fixed; the path now correctly shows as “Archived”.

Improvements to ‘More Options’ Menu of Slides in Presentation Mode

We fixed an issue where the ‘More Options’ menu of slides in Presentation Mode was not fully visible, causing the “Add Note” menu item to be cut off. The dropdown menu now displays all items clearly, ensuring full visibility and accessibility of all options.

Improved Shape and Connector Functionality

We’ve made several improvements to the functionality of shapes, connectors, and the notes panel:

  • Now, shape text is automatically selected after creation and the text editor by default will appear with all text selected upon clicking to edit.

  • Connectors are improved to align correctly and connect to the right glue points.

  • When you add a template and select a shape, the notes panel will open as expected.

  • Shapes will no longer resize after editing data fields.

These fixes should significantly improve the overall experience of working with shapes, connectors, and various panels within Creately.

Image Rendering when Importing from Google Sheets/CSV

The image links will now render correctly imported from Google Sheets or CSV files into HRM cards.

We’ve resolved an issue where the right sidebar would not close properly after adding data or notes to a shape. The sidebar now functions reliably, allowing for smooth editing of entity text, data items, and uninterrupted use of the data panel.

Password Protected Workspaces Error Fixed

A bug was identified where password-protected workspaces located in the Home folder would display a “diagram-error” upon reloading the page. Password-protected workspaces in the home folder now load correctly without encountering errors. Users can now securely access their protected workspaces without disruption.
