What is a Stakeholder Analysis Template?
A Stakeholder Analysis Template is a structured tool that helps organizations identify, categorize, and understand the key stakeholders involved in a project, business, or initiative. This template provides a framework for assessing each stakeholder’s influence, interest, and potential impact on the project, allowing teams to strategize engagement and communication effectively.Typically, a Stakeholder Analysis Template includes sections to capture essential components such as the stakeholder's name and role, interests and expectations, influence and impact level, engagement strategy, communication needs and frequency, and potential risks with their corresponding mitigation plans.
How to Use a Stakeholder Analysis Template in Creately
- Start by clicking “Edit this template” or go to the Templates section in the Creately App. Enter “Stakeholder Analysis” in the search bar and select Use Template or Add to Workspace to open the template for customization.
- The Stakeholder Analysis Template typically includes sections for Stakeholder Name, Role, Interests, Influence Level, Impact Level, Engagement Strategy, Communication Needs, and Risks. Familiarize yourself with these sections, as they will help guide your analysis.
- Begin populating the template by double-clicking in the Stakeholder Name section to enter the names and roles of all relevant stakeholders involved in your project or initiative. You can also drag a Text Box from the Shape Library to label each stakeholder clearly.
- In the Interests section, describe each stakeholder's goals or concerns regarding the project. For the Influence Level and Impact Level sections, use a rating system (such as high, medium, or low) to evaluate each stakeholder's power over the project and the effect the project has on them.
- Based on the assessments, specify an Engagement Strategy for each stakeholder, determining whether to Keep Satisfied, Manage Closely, Monitor, or Keep Informed. This helps tailor your approach for effectively managing stakeholder relationships.
- Identify the types of communication each stakeholder requires and how often they should be updated. Use the Communication Needs section to detail whether they require regular reports, meetings, or informal updates.
- Assess any potential risks associated with each stakeholder, such as resistance to change or conflicting interests. In the Risks section, outline these risks and propose Mitigation Plans to address them proactively in the stakeholder analysis template.
- Use the Share button to invite team members, managers, or relevant stakeholders to review the analysis. They can leave feedback directly on the template using the Add Comment feature, allowing for real-time collaboration and insights.
- After gathering feedback, make any necessary adjustments to the stakeholder analysis. Ensure that all information is clear and well-organized, enhancing readability and ensuring that your strategy is aligned with project goals.
- Once your analysis is complete, click the Export button to save or share the stakeholder analysis template in formats like JPEG, PNG, SVG, or PDF. This enables easy sharing in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or for high-quality printouts for presentations or meetings.
