What is a Stakeholder Register Template?
A Stakeholder Register Template is a structured document that helps project managers and teams identify, categorize, and monitor all stakeholders involved in a project. This template includes sections for stakeholder names, roles, influence levels, interests, and contact information, providing a clear overview of everyone impacted by or involved in a project. By maintaining a comprehensive stakeholder register, teams can ensure that communication, expectations, and engagement strategies are managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle. A Stakeholder Register Template serves as a central reference point to track stakeholder details, communication plans, and influence levels, helping to manage relationships strategically and minimize potential conflicts.
How to Use a Stakeholder Register Template in Creately?
Click on “Edit this Template” of the stakeholder register template to open it in the editor. Or Log in to the Creately App and go to the Templates section, search for “Stakeholder Register” in the template library and select it. Click Use Template or Add to Workspace to bring it into your project workspace, where you’ll find a structured layout ready for inputting stakeholder details.
The template includes columns such as Name, Role, Influence Level, Interest Level, Communication Needs, and Contact Information. Modify or add new categories by double-clicking on column headers or using Creately’s Shape Library to drag in additional boxes. Customizing sections to fit your project’s needs allows for a more detailed and relevant register.
For each stakeholder, fill in attributes like their role, influence level, and interests by double-clicking in the corresponding cell or box. Creately’s drag-and-drop feature lets you reposition items as needed to keep the register organized.
Use the Format Toolbar to color-code stakeholder rows based on their influence and interest levels—for example, red for high influence and green for low interest. Creately’s shape library allows you to add relevant icons to indicate key details, such as a communication priority or a specific stakeholder group.
For each stakeholder, add Notes or Sticky Notes to include extra information like communication preferences, past interactions, or meeting records. This is useful for tracking ongoing communication and ensuring all interactions are consistent and well-documented. Creately’s Notes Panel lets you attach detailed notes without cluttering the main template.
Share the Stakeholder Register with your project team by clicking the Share button and inviting team members to collaborate. They can use Add Comment to suggest changes or add information on specific stakeholders, ensuring that everyone on the team can contribute and keep the register updated in real-time.
Once the register is complete, click Export to save it as a JPEG, PNG, SVG, or PDF. This allows for easy integration into project reports or sharing with relevant stakeholders. Use a high-resolution PDF for professional-quality printouts or digital sharing, making it accessible for reference during team meetings or reviews.
