Is Climate Change real?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Let\u2019s look at the evidence presented by the scientists;<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span>          <\/span>Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span>          <\/span>400,000 square miles of Arctic sea have melted due to global warming<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span>          <\/span>Global sea level has risen up to 8 inches over the past century due to global warming<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span>          <\/span>A 100% increase in the duration and intensity of natural disasters worldwide<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span>          <\/span>The amount of CO2 has increased by 31%<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span>          <\/span>By 2050, up to 37% of our plant and animal species could be wiped out<\/span><\/p>\n

And<\/span> the list of evidence<\/span><\/a> goes on.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, U.S. president-elect Donald Trump has a completely different opinion on climate change. He thinks it\u2019s a Chinese hoax, \u201ca concept invented by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In<\/span> his action-plan for the first 100 days<\/span><\/a> as the 45<\/span>th<\/span> president of the U.S., he talks of cancelling billions of funds to the UN climate change programs, reviving energy infrastructure projects like the Keystone Pipeline and investing $50 trillion dollars\u2019 worth of money in mining shale, oil, natural gas and coal in U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has also talked of<\/span> pulling U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement<\/span><\/a> and<\/span> repealing President Obama\u2019s Climate Action Plan<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Trump is to follow through with his vision, it would bring an end to all the promising actions taken thus far to mitigate climate change by U.S.  <\/span>Research<\/span><\/a> shows that a Trump presidency would leave emissions 16% higher (that means 3.4 billion tons more carbon US emissions) after just two terms.  <\/span><\/p>\n

If he takes actions to pull U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement, the treaty won\u2019t die, but will lose momentum, even perhaps encouraging other countries to discontinue doing their part to reduce emission. His plan on reviving the coal industry and projects like the Keystone Pipeline will increase air pollution and damage fragile ecosystems. In fact, such actions will continue to haunt many generations to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

If the world, including the U.S. that contributes 25% of total emission on the planet, fails to make a significant effort to reduce emission, global temperatures will continue to rise and it will cause ice caps to melt and sea level to rise, hence threatening the lives of all living beings on planet earth.      <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
